I served as the web and forums specialist on the community team for the Age of Empires franchise at Microsoft's World's Edge studio. In this role, I collaborated with the community team, managing website updates, blog posts, and interactions across Steam, Discord, and forums throughout multiple game launches.

Website content and landing pages. Built and updated dedicated landing pages for each launch on the Age of Empires website, ensuring players had current, accurate information across the franchise's primary owned channel.
Cross-platform community updates. Kept Steam, Discord, and the official forums aligned with each release and live-ops beat — same information, right voice for each surface.
Live-ops coordination. Partnered with the live-ops team to surface timing, dates, and content beats to the community through the channels I owned.
Community feedback loop. Gathered community sentiment and bug reports from forums and Discord, and routed them to the team so player signal reached the people who could act on it.
Working on Age of Empires provided me with the opportunity to engage in community work at a level of specialization I hadn’t experienced before. I had a well-defined role within a full community team, focused on a franchise with a dedicated and long-standing audience. This experience demonstrated how much more efficient the work becomes when the team is properly organized. It serves as my best reference for what it means to "manage a community effectively."
